     National Clearinghouse For Child Abuse And Neglect



  • The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information is a service of the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  • The mission of the Clearinghouse is to connect professionals and concerned citizens to timely and well-balanced information on programs, research, legislation, and statistics regarding the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families.
  • The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information (NCCANCH) was established in 1974 by the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to collect, organize, and disseminate information on all aspects of child maltreatment.

  • APSAC is a membership society dedicated to serving professionals who work in child abuse and neglect and thereby improve the quality of services to maltreated children and the adults who share and influence their lives.

  • Professionals from law enforcement, medicine, social services, mental health and education and allied professions belong to APSAC. Academics from a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, psychology, law, social work, and social and behavioral sciences also belong to APSAC.

  • Our many state and local prevention programs help spread the word in your community, creating awareness that prevention is possible. Together, we can make a difference. Remember, a child is helpless – you are not.

    Midwest Regional Children's Advocacy Center
    Funded by the US Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Midwest Regional Children's Advocacy Center offers a full range of training and technical assistance to developed and developing children's advocacy centers.
    The intent of our services is to assist new communities with program start-up and strengthen prospective and existing centers by supporting their passage through developmental stages.
    The goal of the intervention is to assure coordinated, non-traumatizing services to children and their families who are victims of abuse and neglect.
